Tandoori chicken Recipe

Tandoori chicken is a popular North Indian dish consisting of roasted chicken prepared with yogurt and spices. The name comes from the type of cylindrical clay oven, a tandoor, in which the dish is traditionally prepared.

Preparation time: 10 min.
Cook time: 30 min.
Total time: 40 min.

Ingredients Required:

1. Eight large chicken piece.
2. Oil to baste

For the marinade:


1. Four tsp red chili paste
2. Three tsp ginger garlic paste
3. Two tsp chaat masala
4. One tblsp oil
5. Three tblsp curd
6. Salt according to taste
7. Half tsp juice of lemon

For tandoori masala:


1. Two stick cinnamom
2. One tblsp black peppercorns
3. Five green Cardamom
4. Three brown cardamom
5. Two tsp coriander seeds
6. Two tsp cumin seeds
7. Three cloves
8. One bay leaf
9. Three – fourth tsp turmeric

Instructions:

1. Make small gashes in the chicken pieces for the marinade to coat it nicely.
For The Marinade:
1. In a bowl add ginger and garlic paste, red chilli paste, chaat masala, tandoori masala, oil, curd, salt and lemon juice. Mix it well.
2. Rub the marinade on the chicken pieces, over the skin and underneath it. Marinate the chicken pieces for 30 minutes.
3. Char grill the chicken pieces on a griller or tandoor. Baste with oil at regular intervals. If you want to make in oven temperature should be 250-300 degree C. 
4. Serve with lemon wedges and onion rings.
For the tandoori masala
1. In a pan dry roast cinnamon, peppercorns, green cardamom, brown cardamom, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, cloves, bay leaf and turmeric powder.
2. In a mortar and pestle grind the dry roasted spices into a fine powder.
3. Masala is ready.
