Pav Bhaji Recipe

Pav Bhaji is Mumbai’s one of the hottest selling fast food and street food. Pav Bhaji is a quick meal that can be grabbed on the go – since large portion of bhaji made in advanced simply reheated with few spice before serving. Here is a easy recipe of Pav Bhaji.

Ingredients Required:

1. Two medium size potatoes
2. One cup chopped cauliflower
3. One cup chopped carrot
4. One cup peas, fresh or frozen
5. Half cup chopped french beans
6. One large onion finely chopped
7. Two to three large tomatoes finely chopped 
8. One green capsicum 
9. Two to three tsp ginger garlic paste
10. One or two green chilies chopped
11. One to two tblsp. Pav Bhaji masala
12. Half tsp garam masala powder
13. One tsp chilly powder or freshly pounded 1-2 dried chilies
14. One tsp cumin powder
15. One tsp turmeric powder 
16. Salt as required
17. Butter as required
18. 12 pavs


Instructions:

Preparing Bhaji:


1. Boil all the vegetables except onions, tomatoes and capsicum in pressure cooker.
2. Mash the vegetables, don’t make puree mash lightly and keep aside.
3. Take a pan and add butter to it.
4. Add cumin seeds, when they sizzles add chopped onion to it.
5. Fry onion until it cook completely remember not to burn them.
6. Add ginger – garlic paste to it until its raw smell goes away.
7. Add chopped green chilies and fry for minutes.
8. Add tomatoes until they become soft and mushy.
9. Add chopped capsicum. Now add turmeric powder, chilly powder and Pav Bhaji masala, add amchur powder if you want sour taste.
10. Mix dry masala until capsicum become soft.
11. You don’t need to make capsicum very soft let it be crunchy.
12. Now add mashed vegetables and stir well with masala.
13. Add some water and let simmer the vegetables for 7 – 8 minutes.
14. If vegetables become dry add more water to it.
15. When done garnish it with coriander leaves.
16. Serve it with chopped onion and lemon.
17. While serving add butter to bhaji and serve with butter pavs.


To Make Butter Pavs:


1. Heat some butter on flat pan.
2. When butter melts add pav to it and fry for minutes.
