Soya Chaap is one of the favorite among North Indians.This is because its texture is very similar to non-veg, but it is pure veg. Soya Chaap is serve as main dish with naan and chapatis.
Preparation time: 15 min.
Cook time: 30 min.
Total time: 45 min.
1. Twelve piece soya chap
2. Two medium onions, chopped
3. Four tomatoes, chopped
4. Half tsp ginger paste
5. Half tsp garlic paste
6. One – fourth cup beaten curd
7. Half cup cream
8. One to two cardamom
9. One stick cinnamon
10. Two-three cloves
11. Half tsp garam masala
12. Half tsp cumin powder
13. Half tsp coriander powder
14. One – fourth tsp red chilli powder
15. Half tsp chaap masala
16. Salt as required
Instructions:
1. Wash chaap nicely and make small slits on chaap with help of knife.
2. Heat 2 tblsp of oil in pan, put chaap into oil and fry them until become golden brown.
3. Drain on absorbent paper.
4. In a pan add 2 tblsp of oil, add coarsely crushed cloves, green cardamom and cinnamon stick and sauté it for few seconds.
5. Add onion and ginger – garlic paste, sauté it till become golden brown.
6. Add tomatoes and mix well till oil separates.
7. Now add beaten curd on low flame.
8. Add salt, red chilli, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala and chaap masala.
9. Stir and sauté it for 3-4 min.
10. Add 2 cup of water and let it boil.
11. Add soya chaap and cook on low flam for 15 – 20 min.
12. Remove from flame, add beaten cream and mix well.
13. Bring back on flame and cook chaap for more 5 min.
14. Soya chaap are ready to serve with naan or chapatis.
