Salted Vermicelli Recipe

Vermicelli is a very healthy low calorie breakfast. It is easily digestible. I prefer wheat vermicelli over rice. Vermicelli in old days was prepared at home with wheat or rice.
Here is a Recipe of Salted Vermicelli.


Salted Vermicelli

Preparation time: 10 min.
Cook time: 15 min.
Total time: 25 min.

Ingredients Required:

1. One cup vermicelli
2. One and half cups of water for boiling
3. Two medium size onions
4. Three medium size tomatoes
5. One medium capsicum
6. Three cloves of garlic
7. Two tsp oil + three tblsp oil
8. Two tsp salt according to taste
9. One tsp red chilli powder
10. Half tsp turmeric powder
11. Half tsp cumin seeds
12. One tsp asafoetida (Hing )
13. One tsp chaat masala

Instructions:

1. Heat water in a pan add salt bring it on hob for boiling then add vermicelli to it and boil for 2-3 min.
2. Drain water and risen properly in cold water apply 2 tsp oil in it so that vermicelli doesn’t stick each other.
3. Chop all the vegetables you have taken.
4. Heat 3 tblsp oil in a wok add cumin seeds when it start crackles add chopped onion cook until become golden brown.
5. Now add capsicum and cook for another 2-3 min. 
6. Add tomatoes and all other spices and cook for sometimes but the vegetables should not be get soggy.
7. Add boil vermicelli to it mix well and check seasoning adjust if require. 
8. Serve hot- hot salted vermicelli.
