South Indian snack attack "Idli Dabeli"

Preparation time: 10 min

Total time: 40 min

Ingredients Required:

For The Idli 

1. Uncooked 300gm rice
2. 100 gm Urad dal
3. One tsp meethi seeds
4. One tsp eno
5. Salt as required


For The Dabeli

1. Four raw bananas
2. Six tblsp green coriander chutney
3. Six tblsp meethi chutney
4. Two tblsp chopped coriander
5. Two tsp Dabeli masala
6. Two- Three tblsp pomegranate seeds
7. One tblsp oil 

Instructions: 

1. Wash rice and urad dal and soak it for around 4-5 hours along with meethi seeds.
2. Drain the excess water if required; grind the mixture to form a thick consistent batter.
3. Keep batter aside for 3-4 hours for fermentation.
4. Once it ferments, add salt and eno required.
5. Now take Idli moudls and grease, them with little oil.
6. Pour batter into moulds and steam them for 10-15 minutes.

For The Dabeli 

1. Simmer the raw bananas. After simmering mash them with masher.
2. Take some oil in pan. Add mashed bananas, green chutney, meethi chutney, salt, Dabeli masala and chopped coriander. Mix the ingredients well and cook for some time.
3. Take each Idli and cut horizontally through the center.
4. Take the bottom half of the Idli and place the dabeli mixture and pomegranate seeds on top of it. Cover it with the other half
5. Serve hot.
