One of the most popular Indian dessert, here's for you the 'Gajar ka Halwa' recipe. Known to have originated in Punjab, it is a delight during the winter months. t is made by placing grated carrot in a pot containing a specific amount of water, milk and sugar.
Preparation time: 20 mins.
Cook time: 25 mins.
Total time: 45 mins.
Ingredients Required:
1. Two cup thickly grated carrot
2. One tblsp ghee
3. Two tblsp milk
4. Four tblsp sugar
5. Four tblsp khoya
6. One tblsp raisins
7. One tblsp chopped almonds
8. Half tsp caradamom powder
Instructions:
1. Heat ghee in pressure cooker; add carrot and sauté on medium flame for 4-5 minutes by stirring continuously.
2. Add milk and mix well then pressure cook for one whistle. Allow the steam to escape before opening lid.
3. Transfer into non-stick pan Add the sugar mix well and cook on high flame for 5-7 minutes while stirring continuously.
4. Add khoya mix well and again cook for couple of minutes.
5. Add raisin, almonds, cardamom powder and cook for another one minute.
Your Indian Dessert Gajar Ka Halwa is ready to serve Hot.
