Veg Pulao Recipe

Today’s this Indian Recipe Veg Pulao for those who don’t have much time to spend for cooking. Veg Pulao is easy to prepare and yummy in taste with full of vegetables having all nutrients, minerals and vitamin that our body needs. Here an easy recipe of Veg Pulao made in Pressure Cooker.

Preparation time: 25 mins.
Cook time: 15 mins.
Total time: 40 mins.

Ingredients Required:

1. One and half cups basmati rice
2. Two and half cups water
3. One medium onion sliced
4. One medium tomato chopped
5. One medium sized potato chopped
6. Half cup peas
7. One cup cauliflower
8. Half cup chopped carrot or beans
9. Two tblsp oil
10. Ginger, garlic paste
11. One green chili chopped
12. One inch cinnamon stick
13. Two – three cardamom
14. Two – three cloves
15. One strand of mace
16. One medium sized bay leaf
17. One tsp cumin seeds

Instructions:

1. Soak rice in water for atleast 25 – 30 mins, meanwhile chop all the veggies you have.
2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add all the spices written in ingredients fry till oil becomes fragrant. Now add sliced onion and fry till become golden.
3. Add ginger garlic paste and fry for 30 seconds.
4. Add the tomatoes, potatoes, cauliflower, carrots or beans and sauté for 2 – 3 minutes on low flame and keep stirring, and then add peas and keep stirring for 2 minutes more on low flame.
5.  Drain the rice and the add rice in pressure cooker keep stirring till all rice grain coated with oil. Now pour water and stir.
6. Add salt and cover the pressure cooker and keep it on medium flame for atleast 2 – 3 whistles.
7. When rice is done gently fluff it and start serving hot.
