Ingredients Required: 

1. One cup brown sugar
2. One cup all-purpose flour
3. One – fourth cup pecans 
4. Two tblsp ground cinnamon
5. One sticks unsalted butter
6. Granny smith apples peeled, cored and thin sliced – 11/2 pounds
7. Bartlett pears peeled, cored and thin sliced – 11/2 pounds
8. Three – fourth cup dried currants
9. One – fourth tsp ground cardamom 
10. One – fourth cup honey
11. Two tblsp cognac
12. Vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degree and butter skillet.
2. In a food processor, combine sugar with flour, pecans and cinnamon. Add the butter and pulse until the mixture is fine. Press and make clumps. 
3. In a bowl add apple and pears with currants, sugar, cinnamon and cognac and stir until the sugar is dissolved. 
4. Spread the fruit in the skillet and scatter the topping over the fruit.
5. Bake the crisp in the center of the oven for 1 hour until fruit is bubbling and the topping is browned let cool for few minutes before serving.
