Oyako Donburi Recipe

This is popular Japanese Dish atleast in Hawaii which Is often serve in same bowl, Oyako means mother and child, hence its main ingredients are chicken and eggs. Here is an easy recipe of Oyako Donburi.

Ingredients Required:

1. One tblsp vegetable oil
2. Three – fourth pounds skinless boneless chicken breast cut into pieces.
3. Half onion thinly sliced
4. One cup chicken broth
5. Six dried shiitake mushroom, soaked until soft dried then sliced into strips
6. One carrot, julienned
7. Two tblsp white sugar
8. Four tblsp soy sauce
9. Half tsp salt
10. Half cup chopped green onions
11. Five eggs beaten 

Instructions:

1. Heat the oil a large skillet in a medium high-heat. Sauté Chicken strips and onion until chicken is cooked through, about 5 to 7 min. Drain off as much liquid as possible.
2. Stir the chicken broth and simmer for 2 minutes. Add mushroom and carrots and let simmer for a few minutes. Before stirring the sugar, soy sauce and salt. Simmer for 3 minutes. 
3. Sprinkle in half of the green onion stirring gently. Pour beaten egg over the chicken mixture, and simmer until the eggs are cooked through, about 10 min.

          Your Japanese Recipe Oyako Donburi is ready to serve with sticky Japanese rice.
