Onion – Tomato Uthappams Recipe

Onion – Tomato Uthappams  are popular South – Indian Breakfast snacks they are healthy and easy to make. There are varieties of uthappams here I shared Recipe of Onion – Tomato Uthappam.

Preparation time: 10 min.
Cook time: 30 min.
Total time:  40 min.

Ingredients Required: 

1. Two to three cups dosa batter 
2. Half cup finely chopped onion
3. Half cup finely chopped tamato
4. One to two green chili 
5. One to two tblsp finely chopped coriander
6. Ghee or butter or oil.
7. Pav bhaji masala or sambar masala or idli podi, as required.

Instructions:

1. First Make Dosa batter. You can read here for dosa batter.
2. You can also use leftover dosa batter
3. Mix the chopped onions, tomatoes, green chili, and coriander together in a bowl.
4. Heat a non-stick pan. Take one ladle of uthappam batter it in a circle on the tava similar to the way you make dosa only the quantity of batter should be more than you put in dosa. The uthappam should be thick.
5. Top the uthappam with onion, tomatoes and chili mixture.
6. Sprinkle pav bhaji masala or idli podi or sambar masala and salt on the top of the vegies and uthappam.
7. Add some ghee or butter on the sides and the top of the uthappam. 
8. Turn the uthapaam when the base is cooked. Apply some ghee/butter on the cooked.
9. The onion tomato is getting cooked now flip the side when it get cooked.
10. If again if you see the side is not cooked properly.
11. When the uthappams are crispy and cooked on both sides. Serve it.

Your South – Indian Recipe Onion – Tomato Uthappam is ready to serve with curd chutney or simple sweetened or plain curd.
