Honey Walnut and Shrimp Recipe

Get an easy way to prepare Hong Kong style Chinese Cuisine Crispy battered shrimp tossed in creamy sauce topped with sugar coated walnuts.

Ingredients Required:

1. One cup water
2. Two – third cup white sugar
3. Half cup walnuts
4. Four egg whites
5. Two – third cup mochiko
6. One – fourth cup mayonnaise
7. One pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
8. Two tblsp honey
9. One tblsp canned sweetened condensed milk
10. One cup vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

1. In a small saucepan stir water and sugar together. Bring water to the boil and add the walnuts .
2. Boil for 2 minutes, then drain and place walnut on cookie sheet to dry.
3. Whip egg whites in a medium bowl until foamy. Stir in the mochiko until it has a pasty consistency.
4. Heat the oil in a deep skillet over medium high heat. Dip shrimp into mochiko batter and then fry it in hot oil until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Remove it on paper towels.
5. Stir together the mayonnaise, honey, sweetened condensed milk. Add shrimp and toss to coat with sauce. Sprinkle the candied walnut on top and serve.
