Indian Cuisine Punjabi Poora also known as Pooda/ Puda/ Gulgulea. People make it at the time of Diwali or it is nice to have it in rainy season or cold weather with tea. Here is an easy and quick recipe of Punjabi Poora.
Preparation time: 5 min.
Cook time: 10 min.
Total time: 15 min.
Ingredients Required:
1. One cup wheat flour
2. One tsp fennel seeds or sauf
3. Sugar to taste
4. Water
5. Ghee or oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Take one cup wheat flour and add fennel seeds and sugar according to taste.
2. Add water make a paste which is neither thick nor too thin. Mix well so that sugar dissolves.
3. In a skillet take ghee or oil, when it becomes hot, take one tblsp of poora batter and add in oil.
4. Oil should be hot otherwise batter may stick.
5. The poora will puff whilst frying. Turn it and fry other side. Once the poora has become golden brown take it out. Drain excess oil by keeping it on kitchen tissue.
6. In this way you can fry as many pooras you want to fry.
