Cindi’s Egg Rolls Recipe

Ingredients Required:

1. Four tblsp vegetable oil.
2. One pound lean boneless pork, cut into strips
3. Four cups shredded cabbage
4. One large shredded carrot 
5. Half green bell pepper, cut into thin strips
6. One medium onion chopped
7. Three cloves garlic, minced
8. Three tsp fresh ginger root, grated
9. One tblsp cornstarch 
10. Two tblsp soy sauce
11. Molasses – 11/2 tblsp
12. Two tblsp vegetable oil
13. One quart oil for frying
14. Egg roll wrappers - 11/2 packages
15. One – fourth cup water is needed
16. Sweet and sour sauce for dipping – 11/2 cups 

Instructions:

1. Heat two tblsp vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium – high heat. Stir fry pork for 3 minutes. Transfer pork to paper towel –lined plate and keep aside.
2. In a large bowl, mix the cabbage, carrot, green bell pepper, onion, garlic and ginger. In a bowl mix the cornstarch, soy sauce and molasses until smooth.
3. Heat two tblsp oil in a skillet. Stir in cabbage mixture in batches cook each batch for 3-4 minutes. Just until it tender. Return the vegetable to the bowl and mix it with pork. Stir in the cornstarch mixture.
4. Prepare work surface for rolling the eggs roll. Lay several egg roll wrappers in a row. Place the water in a small bowl; you will use this for sealing.
5. Place about 2-3 tblsp filling in each egg roll wrapper. Dip the finger in the water  and run it along the edges of the wrappers. Fold one corner of the wrapper over filling. Fold the wrapper sides over filling. Fold wrapper side over filling. Roll wrappers to from egg rolls.
6. Heat One quart oil in a deep fryer to 365 degrees F.
7. Fry egg rolls in batches in the hot oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towel and serve with sweet and sour sauce.  

        Your Chinese Recipe Cindi’s Egg Rolls are ready to serve with sour sweet sauce.
